Our keynote speaker for the event is Peter Martin from Nijmegen in The Netherlands.
Peter has been active in the Joomla! community since 2005: at first as regular forum user, and later as Global Moderator at Joomla forum, and member of the Joomla! Community Leadership Team.

Achim Fischer, who hails from Germany, is back again this year to share his knowledge. He’s a developer with a focus on Joomla! extensions (Discussions & Marketplace), Ruby on Rails and Mobile Devices. His big passion are all kind of technical gadgets especially smartphones & tablets. Attendant and speaker at local and international events.

Matthew Philogene is the co-organizer of JoomlaDay Cape Town, and other JoomlaDay events accross South Africa since 2007. He’s been been involved in the Online Industry for over 10 years. Matthew obtained a diploma in Marketing and Advertising, before going into the Online Industry.

Retha van Staden is passionate about helping small business owners make sense of the minefield of social media and online marketing. She’s worked extensively with Joomla from V1.0 to today.

Stephen Tredrea has been working with content management since the late 1990's, originally as a solution for large corporate Intranets. Having a business degree in Information Systems he is interested in website solutions that have a low cost of ownership and are easy to maintain.

Paul van Jaarsveld lives with his wife and two sons in Jeffreys Bay. He has been building websites with Joomla since the days it was called Mambo and is experienced in development of extensions and templates for all the Joomla (and old Mambo) versions as well as migrating content between the versions.

Dwight Barnard specializes in design, implementation and custom Joomla! templates mostly on a business to business level. The last 2 years he’s been a co-organiser of the JoomlaDay in Cape Town.

Jacques Rentzke first got involved with Joomla! 5 years ago. In 2012 he was invited to join the board of Open Source Matters (the organization that provides the legal and financial support for the international Joomla project), and has served as Secretary and presently as the Vice-President of the board. Jacques is also co-organizer of the Joomla! User Group Cape Town (JUGCT) and the Joomla!Day Cape Town 2011 and 2012 events.

Andrew Holden, who is an HTML5 & Web App Specialist and JUG organizer, and Robert Porter, a PHP expert who has been working on Joomla web development projects since 1997.

And also via video link-up from the USA is Kyle Ledbetter. He is the principle usability engineer for eBay, Inc.

Kyle is also currently leading the JUX (Joomla eXperience Project) which first redesigned Joomla.org, and is now focusing on the UX of Joomla 3.0.
